fewer OKRs, more stories!

Dream Mapping is a strategic framework that helps teams dream up goals they actually care about, visualize and select the fastest path to get there, and get everyone on the same page using an actual map that tells a story.

As an activity, it’s a fun and interactive approach that can be done in any whiteboarding software (like Miro or FigJam), and a perfect way to bring remote teams together.

It was developed internally by Squadformers, as a way for our Squads to build meaningful products faster. You can use it for just about any goal, whether professional or personal.

A fantastic framework presented in a really compelling way.

An overview of using Dream Mapping in Miro.

It clicks and works well for me. I really like the idea of a team going down a couple of paths each quarter to see if it helps them reach their dreams. Too often we treat the paths as the destinations themselves.

It’s like the missing map in a “roadmap”.
